Hall?s Bayou Ranch, Inc. was founded on April 7, 1943 when three friends and business associates, R. T. ?Bob? Briscoe, Virgil McGinnes, and Phil Davant, purchased the property.Bobbie B. Moore – President of Hall’s Bayou Ranch Although all three have long since passed away, the ownership of the Ranch remains in the hands of members of their families. Our current President, Bobbie Briscoe Moore, is the daughter of Bob Briscoe, the original Managing Partner.

Originally, the primary focus of the Ranch was rice farming, using water from the then recently completed Briscoe Irrigation Canal. However, since rice fields must lie fallow two out of every three years, cattle ranching played a significant role in the operation.

Over the decades, the Ranch has had to evolve to survive the changing economic conditions. In the 40’s and 50’s, rice was ?King? along the Texas Gulf Coast, and the area was basically an agricultural region, with as many farming families as not. At that time, we had as many as twenty independent tenants operating on the Ranch, as well as our corporate activities. Since then, we have seen the virtual extinction of the family farm, and the region has become almost exclusively suburban. While the changes have not always been easy, we have, obviously, survived. Some of the strategies employed over the years have included changing our crops, modifying scale of operations, promoting oil and gas production, and other alternative land uses.

Hunting has occurred on the Ranch since its inception. Over the years, its role has changed. In some periods, we allowed informal day hunting, where hunters paid a fee as they entered the gate. At others, there have been several different forms of clubs, with varying degrees of formal structure. In the mid-90?s, management realized that hunting represented a largely under-rated source of income, and began to take steps to maximize its potential.

Today, hunting represents a significant income source for the Ranch. Our development policy dictates that we reinvest significant amounts of capital each year for improvements to enhance the ecosystem and our other facilities. These improvements should, in turn, increase our revenues.

In gathering information for preparing this site, I was talking to one of the guides. He said to me, ?This is the only company I know that will promise you something and then give you more. They promise a new 30-acre pond, and a month later you have that and three new flooded fields.?

Respect for the land and love of the wildlife motivates our staff to these exceptional levels of performance. Over the years, conditions will only continue to improve. We invite you to become a part of our enthusiastic family.

You are here for one reason and one reason only, to have the most kick ass & unique hunt in the industry today! After we started selling dove hunts in 2011, in one year we dominated the 2012 dove hunting industry with Dove Blasters, LLC. Now we have branched out to all kinds of hunting.

We will not send on some bug hunt where there are too many hunters and not enough birds. You’ve heard of the term “That’s why they call it huntin and not killin.” That doesn’t float with us. If for some reason the duck hunting is poor, due to a hurricane, the spraying for West Nile virus or any other natural or man made disaster, we will give you a make up hunt absolutely FREE! We WILL put you on the birds! WE GURANTEE IT!

Even though Outlaw Outfitters LLC is a new company, we have years of experience under our belt. Our outfitters are life long hunters and damn good at what they do. Our reputation speaks for itself. Be sure to check out the testimonials page to see what hunters are saying about us!

I’m Tim Milligan, and along with my wife Melissa, my two kids, Aidan 13 and Abby 11, and a bunch of great gundawgs, we’re responsible for most of this. I couldn’t do what I do without each of them and each of you.

High expectations: We take a lot of pride around here in being a small family run hunting operation with no desire to grow beyond our means. The goal has always been to grow at a rate we could handle and still maintain a high level of service. It’s not always easy to reel in my own enthusiasm, but I believe keeping this thing in perspective has helped us be able to provide a consistent product to our hunting clients.

What it’s all for: Job number one around here is to glorify God in all that we do. We enjoy what we do and realize how blessed we are to be able to do it. We strive to treat others the way we would want to be treated, provide the kind of service we look for and make every outing something memorable for all involved. We’re a family friendly operation and we encourage you to get your kids out in the field with you whenever possible.

I’d appreciate the opportunity to show you what’s different and special about Deacon’s Point. Feel free to call or email us any time if you have questions about what we do or when we’re available.

JP Ranch was started in 1994 by Joe Thompson and Keith Brown after a hunting trip to a South Texas ranch in late 1993. Their experience there was far less than pleasant. The guides did not treat them well, the accomidations were less than par, and they had minimal chances at a kill. After returning home, they decided to open JP Ranch with two simple concepts. Make the hunters feel at home, and offer a high opportunity hunt to get a trophy of a lifetime. With this concept, JP Ranch has been in business now for over 18 years and continue to stand by the same principles. Give us a call to book a hunt and see why our hunters keep coming back to JP Ranch!

I?m Randy Ferguson, owner of Ferguson Ranch, and I would like to thank you for browsing our website. Together with my two sons, Wallace and Kyle, we have owned and operated Ferguson Ranch since 1987. We are located just 50 miles south of San Antonio, in the heart of the finest hunting in Texas. With a total of 1,500 acres – 1,250 being high-fenced – we offer a wide range of diverse terrain and scenery. The Frio River that George Strait sings about runs right through our land, providing a lush river bottom that is home to trophy whitetails, monster hogs, and turkeys with beards that drag the ground. And, there is flint rock hill, over 300 acres covered with guajillo, blackbrush and purple sage – pure 100% South Texas brush country – and home to some incredible bucks. If that isn’t enough, we also have irrigated oat fields, where it?s not unusual to see 60 to 80 deer roaming out to eat in the late afternoons.

Through our aggressive year-round protein feeding program, coupled with plentiful south Texas natural nutrition, our bucks are some of the finest in the state. All of our food plots are planted with oats and have timed corn feeders, ensuring that you will see plenty of animals. Our spacious box blinds have plexi-glass windows, 6 ? ft. hinged doors and stairs with hand rails, making them easy to get in and out of. Each blind is equipped with office chairs, allowing two or three people to sit in comfort throughout a hunt.

For each hunt, you will be accompanied by one of our professional guides. Our guides are experienced hunters and have extensive knowledge in scoring and aging white tail deer. They will not only help you find the exact trophy you are after, but they will also make sure your overall hunting experience is second to none.

At Ferguson Ranch, we believe in providing the absolute best experience in both hunting and hospitality. With our first-class accommodations and superior customer service, we know you will have an unforgettable hunting experience. Feel free to send us an email or give us a call for more information. We look forward to hunting with you soon at Ferguson Ranch!

Zach Willeford, Wildlife Biologist, Land Management Consultant, Outfitter, Guide

Growing up in Northeast Texas, Zach Willeford had a desire to work and play in the great outdoors since he first stepped into the woods as a young hunter and has always had a passion for improving natural habitat and increasing the quality of game he was hunting.

As a youngster, he would sit in a deer blind all year round to do his homework just so he could be in nature and observe the wonderful creatures of the forest. As an 8 yr. old, Zach was heavily influenced by a close friend of his Father?s who was a wildlife biologist for a South Texas ranch. This mentor helped set Zach on his current path. Zach attended New Diana High School, where he was heavily involved in a program that his own father directed, the Forest and Wildlife Judging Contest. The Forest and Wildlife Judging teams in which Zach participated advanced to state levels all four years of his high school career. State competitions were held at Stephen F. Austin State University, where Zach would later attend college. Zach graduated 3rd in his class as FFA President, National Honor Society President, GLOBE Scholar, and Football Team Captain, and received many scholarships including an academic excellence scholarship to attend SFA.

After High School, Zach embarked on a study of his field, wildlife management. He studied at the Arthur Temple College of Forestry at SFA and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Forest and Wildlife Management. While attending SFA, he worked at the Whitetail Breeding and Nutrition Research Center helping build the facility and artificially inseminating does as a freshman and helped break new ground in the Scientific Breeding program adopted by Texas Parks and Wildlife. He also completed two fall internships in the San Angelo area learning the hunting industry and what it takes to maintain a hunting operation.

After graduating SFA in December 2002 with a major in Forestry and a minor in Biology, he quickly launched himself into managing game ranches with the prime objective of producing quality game populations and providing memorable hunting experiences.

He continues this proud tradition, after more than 8 years experience, with BRODAX.

Zach?s involvement with hunters, landowners, professional organizations (such as the Texas Chapter of the Wildlife Society ? Life Member), numerous hunting operations, and many years of professional guiding and management experience ensures that each client will receive the highest quality hunting or land management that is currently available.

We offer complete Guide and Outfitter services for the finest in West Texas hunting for Wild Texas Bobwhite Quail, Ducks, Dove, Wild boar and more.

Conditions in our part of Texas since November have been utterly Ideal. As we headed into the spring/summer mating/hatching season conditions could not have been better, and remain better than I have seen since 1992. Our bird numbers were back up last year and with the ideal conditions so far this year it looks like we will have a very good quail season for 2010/11. That being the case I have decided to once again offer a very limited number of outstanding hunts for this fall/winter.

As usual our “regulars” will begin rebooking their dates the first of June. By Mid July we’ll have most of them taken care of and will then be ready to “fill in” where appropriate.
